Medical Treatment
Annandale prides itself on our strong clinical team, and as a result we are able to accept individuals with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions(comorbidities).
Psychiatric Treatment
Individuals will have the opportunity to meet with one of our board certified psychiatrists for a full evaluation and follow up appointment as needed. Our psychiatrists specialize in addiction and psychoanalysis, which allows them to not just provide medication and evaluation but also individual therapy as well.
One to One Therapy
Every client is assigned a licensed therapist that you work with 2x’s a week for individual therapy. You also have the option of starting couples and family therapy, based on your treatment goals and immediate need. Our goal is to help you deal with some of the underlying issues that need to be addressed while in treatment, in order to improve your relationships and overall mental health.
Every client is also assigned a certified substance abuse counselor. Your counselor assists with helping you understand more about your use, and teaches you techniques and programming to help you stay sober. Your counselor works with you in order to create a safe aftercare plan.
Artistic Exploration
The Arts provide individuals an outlet to express themselves as another avenue for self- discovery. We offer workshops in the arts to encourage emotional exploration through creative writing, music, art, and improvisational theatre. Clients are given the opportunity to feel a sense of accomplishment through the arts as well as finding new communities of support. Groups include creative writing, art therapy, experiential therapy, and improv therapy.
Group Psychotherapy
At Annandale we want to ensure that you’re provided with specific pillars of group support. This includes:

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
A cognitive-behavioral treatment used to teach mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to clients. In DBT skills group, participants learn and practice skills alongside others. Members of the group are encouraged to share their experiences and provide mutual support. Groups are led by one trained therapist teaching skills and leading exercises. The group members are then assigned homework, such as practicing mindfulness exercises.
